B.O.D., April 20th game

It’s hard to be a boyfriend this year. What with Henry Blanco and Jacque Jones and the little outfielders that could, old skool players like Dougie, Shannon, and Corey don’t get a chance. (Batgirl’s boyfriend would surely be winning of all these were he not on the DL. Poor baby.) Still, old skool did fairly well tonight. Shannon Stewart led off the game with a beautiful 11-pitch at bat, which psychologically scarred starting pitcher Jason Johnson so that he gave up six earned runs. Dougie and Corey each had a double and came around to score after we’d fallen behind. But, sorry guys, you can’t be as good as Lew Ford or Michael Ryan. And Ford was great, as always, with two runs and two RBIs, and he looked great in center, too. But for Batgirl, this was all about Michael Ryan, who’s been sitting on the bench forever, who knows he might have lost his hard-earned roster spot to Ford, coming in and having a Boyfriend of the Day worthy-game. Nice game, Ryan. It's raining outfielders!
